Library delivers courtesy and overdue notices to patrons who check out materials: a courtesy reminder notice 3 days before materials are due; an overdue notice 7 days after materials are due; and a second overdue notice 14 days after materials are due. The method of delivery of notices is a patron by patron decision. Email and/or phone number must be provided by patrons. To avoid fees, borrowers should return or renew materials before the due date.
The library is a fine free library for patrons with Seneca library cards. Daily fines will not be collected for materials owned by the library, except for items in the Library of Things collection. Library patrons are responsible for all materials charged to their accounts. If overdue materials are not returned or renewed within 21 days of the due date, the material will be considered lost, an invoice issued and the patron’s account blocked. If overdue materials are returned, replacement costs are waived. This fee also applies to materials damaged while in the patron’s possession. Patrons will be charged for returned checks in the amount assessed by the bank. Payment receipts are available upon request.
